INDOOR BASKETBALL
LOCAL ASSOCIATION MANY EXCITING GAMES LAST NIGHT. STATE KITCHENETTE MEN BRING OFF SURPRISE. There were many fast and exciting games at the Y.M.C.A. last evening when the fourth round of the basketball championships was held. State Kitchenette created a surprise by defeating the strong Bouzaid combination. In the ladies’ A grade W.F.C.A. had a comfortable win over Lancers, while the fast improving Banks’ team beat Garages. Codys suffered their first defeat at the hands of Rovers, who thoroughly deserved their win. Another surprise was the defeat of State Kitchenette A by McDuli’s. The refereeing was in the capable hands of Messrs D. Costello. W. Grantham, H. Piper and D. Minine, who were assisted by Mrs H. Piper, of Wellington. The scorekeeper was Mr G. Davis.
