FIRE BRIGADE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the members of the Eketahuna Volunteer Fire Brigade was held in the Fire Station last evening. Supt. H. Roger;; presiding over a full attendance. Accounts amounting to £6 Us 6d were passed for payment. To fill a vacancy. Mr T. Jagu was elected an active member. One resignation was received, and three nominations were received for the position. The secretary reported that to date eight auxiliary firemen had been enrolled. In order to bring the brigade's quota up to full strength two further auxiliary men are required. Il was decided to hold the annual ball on August 11 this year, and the secretary was instructed to obtain from various orchestras prices for supplying the music. It was decided to hold the Brown Cup one-man competition on June 29. Supt. Rogers was appointed, handicapper for the event. Personal Items. The Hastwells Patriotic Committee will entertain Private Brian Dick at a social gathering in Hie Hastwells Hall on Friday evening. Gunner T. Byers and Driver W. Taylor will be guests at a gathering in the Rongokokako Hall.
