MARTINBOROUGH
FAREWELL GATHERING DYERVILLE LADY HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Saturday evening at Dyerville a large number of residents entertained Miss Kitty Smith, prior to her leaving for Wellington to take up duty in the Women’s Auxiliary War Service. A pleasant time was spent in dancing, cards and in other amusements. During an interval, the Rev. F. O. Ball, in making a presentation of a solid leather dressing case and cheque to Miss Smith, referred to her willingness at all times to help in connection with district gatherings, and voiced the general regret at her departure. Messrs J. McGillicuddy and A. Linton spoke in a similar strain. Mr Campbell replied on behalf of his daughter. Musical and vocal items were contributed by Mrs Tokao, Miss P. Smith, and others.
