WAR, AUXILIARY MEETING OF COMMITTEE. ("Times-Age” Special.) The committee of the Women’s War i Special Auxiliary met in the Red Cross Society’s rooms yesterday afternoon. • There were present: Miss Card (in the ■ chair), Mesdames J. B. Davis, D. H. S. . Riddiford, G. S. Sharp and N. C. C. ■ Shepherd (secretary). It was reported that the Kahutaral Pihautea branch was carrying out op- ■ eations most successfully. Correspondence was received from . the Wellington branch of the Red Cross Society requesting that members of the local branch should be asked to become, .where possible, donors of . blood for transfusion purposes. DOMAIN BOARD ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Lake Domain Board was held on Monday. Mr J. W. Card presided. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs W. A. Tate (.Greytown) and J. Blain. The annual report and balance sheet were read and adopted. Mr N. C. C. Shepherd was appointed chairman for the ensuing year. Table Tennis. There w’as a good attendance on Monday evening at the gathering of the Table Tennis Club, when some interesting games were played. The mixed doubles competition was won by Miss A. Johnston and Mr D. Sim. Golf. The following are the results of play for the Wairarapa Golf Club’s Victoria Cup and Shield, first round: —Ladies: Mrs Collins, 46, 5<X 96, handicap 18, 74 net; Miss C. Bargh, 48, 48, 96, 23, 73 net; Mrs Pope, 46. 50, 96, 22, 74 net; Mrs B. Feast, 51, 57, 108, 29, 79 net; Mrs Elbe, 65, 55,, 120, 26, 84 net. Men: Mr D. C. Collins, 74, scr., 74 net; Mr A. Juno, 91, 17, 74 net; Mr D. E. Collins, 88. 12, 76 net; Mr R. Elbe, 9(3, 16, 80 net; Mr W. Pope, 81, 12, 69 net. Personal Items. Mr N. C. C. Shepherd left today for Auckland to attend a council meeting of North Island Motor Union. Mr I. Tilson, Te Kopi Station, is reported to be progressing satisfactorily after his recent operation. Mrs K. Charles, Heyward Street, has received a cable from her son saying that he is safe and well.
