SATURDAY’S COMPETITIONS. IMPROVEMENT IN PLAY. There was a noticeable improvement 1 in the play in Saturday’s matches. Stars I. beat Collegians 1., 17/6. Play on the whole was interesting. The passing was short but the ball was put out too often. Collegians’ goaling was poor and more practice is required. . College I. beat lona, 21/11. lona put up a good fight against the College team but should still concentrate on short passing. Combination among the College girls was accurate and reliable. Greytown, boat College 11., 16/15. Both teams showed improvement. Tire game was keenly contested. Stars IT. defeated Collegians 11.. 21/12. The goaling for Stars was good and shows a marked improvement. The play of Collegians was better than that of last week. Masterton' Hospital beat Belvedere, 16/11. Two of the strongest teams in the B grade met on Saturday when Masterton Hospital played Belvedere. By tin's win Hospital should have no difficulty in winning the B grade trophy,
