GUNNER H. K. SMITH ENTERTAINED.
There was a large attendance at the Masterton Miniature Rifle Club’s rooms last night, when members of the Masterton-Opaki Rifle Club. Wairarapa Gun Club. Miniature Rifle Club and the Wairarapa Gun Dog Club gathered to entertain Gunner H. K. Smith, a popular member of those clubs. Mi- C. E. Grey presided. Mr Grey paid a tribute to the work of Gunner Smith in the clubs mentioned. stating that he had played a full and worthy part in all their activities. Mr Grey presented Gunner Smith with a wristlet watch on behalf of those present. Messrs R. V. Mason (MastertonOpaki Rille Club). M. A. Rawlins (Wairarapa Gun Dog Club) and H. King (Miniature Rifle Club) eulogised the work of Gunner Smith in furthering the gun club movement. Reference was also made to Gunner Smith's reputation as a marksman. He had twice won the North Island championship and had represented New Zealand in Internationa 1 matches. A lengthy toast list was honoured, included in which was a toast to Gunner S. Robinson, a close friend of Gunner Smith's. wb> was present as a. Gunner Smith returned thanks. I
