PUSHED BACK

ENEMY ADVANCE IN SOLLUM AREA MET BY BRITISH ADVANCE UNITS. R.A.F. FINDS GOOD TARGETS. Successful actions by Imperial • troops are reported in North Africa and Abyssinia. In the Solium area the enemy carried out a reconnaissance in force, but turned back when met by advance elements of the British forces. The retreating enemy made particularly good targets for the British aircraft. The British columns advancing from the north and south on Arnba Alagi are gradually approaching each other. The southern force has reached Maiceu and the northern force recently captured further important enemy positions. In southern Abyssinia further progress is reported.
