PEOPLE’S WAR

UNIONS DOING THEIR BIT. This is a people's war. asserts Mr Tudor Davies, writing in "World Review." The part played by the British trade unions is sufficient evidence of the fact. There is scarcely an aspect of war effort in which trade unions have not played, or are not now playing, a part. They are represented on the Cabinet Council; the Minister of Labour has invited thorn to join his advisory committee; the Minister of Supply has included them among the members of his production council and local area committees. Trade union representatives play their part, through their unions, by loaning money to the Government free of interest, and in serving the advisory committees in connection with the development of war savings.
