MOTHER’S DAY

AFTER-CHURCH SERVICE. At the Y.M.C.A. last evening there was a good attendance when the Mother’s Day after-church service was held. Community singing of hymns applicable to the occasion opened proceedings. The chair was occupied by the general secretary and Mr Miller Hope officiated at the piano. The speaker was Mrs Major Dick, of the Whatman Salvation Army Home, who took as her subject the incident from St. Mark’s Gospel where Christ exemplified the true mother love when approached by the rich young ruler.

These celebrations will be furthered this evening when at 5.45 o’clock the ever popular Mother and Son tea will bo held in the spacious games room of the association.
