WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Tinui Women’s Institute held in the Tinui Hall was presided over by Mrs Speedy. There was a fair attendance of members. A report on the conference meeting held in Masterton was given by Mrs J. Bennett. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Bennett for her interesting report. Mrs Johnston gave a demonstration on turning the heel of a sock. The roll call for the afternoon was well responded to. Members helped to pack parcels for soldiers. Competitions respited as follow: — Novelty: Mrs Street, 1; Mrs Beck, 2; Mrs G. Mclsaac, 3. Scones: Mrs Speedy, 1; Mrs Johnston, 2; Mrs Street, 3. Best bloom: Mrs O'Hara, 1; Mrs Street, 2; Miss C. O’Hara. 3. Wall competition: Mrs Street, 1; Miss O. Owen and Mrs G. Mclsaac (equal), 2; Mrs Dobbs, Mrs O’Hara and Mrs Mac Alister (equal), 4. Mrs Mac Alister won the musical parcel game. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Thorby, Mrs G. Mclsaac and Miss Atack.
