FEATHERSTON
PATRIOTIC CONCERT GOOD FINANCIAL RESULT. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a meeting of the committee of the Featherston Variety Entertainers the balance-sheet of the patriotic concert held under their auspices was presented and showed a profit of £34 12s. This amount has now been handed over to the secretary of the Patriotic Society. The concert was played to a record house and the large audience showed great appreciation for the items presented. The committee expresses its thanks to Mr T. Udy and party and Mr Thorne and pupils for their valued assistance in making the concert the success that it assuredly was. Thanks are also due to Mesdames Shepherd, Lawson and Carlyon for providing hot refreshments for the performers at the close of the concert. Personal. Mr and Mrs Stephens, Malaya, who have been on a six months' visit to New Zealand, wore the guests of Mrs L. McKenna last week. Mr and Mrs Harkins, Wellington, are visiting Pahautea. Mrs K. H. Allen is visiting Featherston .
