GREYTOWN
CROQUET CLOSING DAY CEREMONY. ("Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Croquet Club held its closing day yesterday afternoon in ideal weather conditions. The afternoon took the form of competitions. The winners were: —Golf, Mcsdames Robb and Miss Hill; peg, Mrs A. Gregor; French, Mrs H. Carter; angles, Mrs E. Maddlson. During the afternoon, Mrs H. Carter, president, thanked all members for their co-operation during the season. She presented Mrs A. Haigh, secretary, and Mrs A. Gregor, treasurer, with a posy each as a mark of appreciation for the help they had rendered during the season. A telegram competition with the word Anzac was won by Mrs E. Richards.
Mrs A. Gregor was the winner of the A section in the half-hour tournament which had been held during the season and received Mrs Carter’s trophy. Mrs A. Horton was the B section winner and received Mrs Gregor’s trophy.
The season had been a very enjoyable one and the keenness of the new players is very hopeful for next season.
