SOUTH FEATHERSTON
ENJOYABLE GATHERING EUCHRE PARTY AND DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the euchre party and dance held in the South Featherston Hall on Thursday night, the gathering being a very enjoyable one. The prizes were won ,as follow: Ladies, Mesdames Cross and Curry equal 1; men, Mr E. Stone 1. Mr R. Fuge 2. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Skirkey and partner. Udy’s Orchestra supplied the music and Miss G. Fraser played an extra. Mr 11. Graham was ‘M.C. The prize donated by Mrs Edwards for a competition was won by Mr Stan Header.
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING. There was a fair attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Home and School Association held recently in the South Featherston Hall. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Chairwoman, Mrs Arch. Clark (re-elected); vice-chair-woman. Mrs B. Burt; secretary, Mrs Barnard; treasurer, Mrs Blandford. A competition resulted as follows: Mrs Sorensen 1, Mrs Willis 2, Mrs A. Gain 3. , , The hostesses were Mesdames Carter, Graham and Cuff. Personal Items. Miss M. Thorne, of South Featherston, is spending a holiday at Picton. Mrs Dixon, of Masterton, who has been staying with her sister, Mrs Thorne, South Featherston, has returned home.
Miss Sheila Page, of Palmerston North, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs A. Clark, South Featherston. A South Featherston visitor to Picton is Mr Thorne.
