FEATHERSTON
WOMEN’S DIVISION ANNUAL MEETING YESTERDAY. (“Times-Age" Special.) The annual meeting of the Featherston branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon. Mrs Wakely was in the chair and there was a very good attendance. Apologies were received from Mesdames Riddiford, Arch. Clark, Sadler, Blaiden, Carter, Aitken and Cuff. The annual report stated that a satisfactory year had been experienced. Mrs Q. Donald read her report on the housekeepers section, which she stated was working satisfactorily. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Patroness, Mrs D. H. S. Riddiford; president, Mrs Wakely (re-elected); vice-presidents, Mesdames Brandon, G. Yule, Charles, Miss Cai*d; secretary-treasurer, Mrs Feast (re-elected); 'treasurer, Miss Goodrich; delegates to the provincial meetings, Mesdames Riddiford, Feast and Yule; secretary for the housekeeping section, Mrs Quentin Donald (re-elected).
Mrs J. R. Higgs gave a most interesting address on the contrast in life in Hong Kong and in New Zealand and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The hostesses were Mesdames Wakely, Feast. Brandon and Miss Goodrick. Personal Items. Mr J. W. Card and Miss Esma Card, who have been visiting Mrs H. McKay, Levin, for a few days, returned home today. Schoolboy Injured. While playing at school a boy named L. Benton suffered a severe knock on the head. After receiving attention from Dr. Sharp he was taken to his home. He is suffering from slight concussion.
