OVERCOME BY FUMES
SCHOOLMASTER AND PUPIL IN FIJI. BOTH ASPHYXIATED IN RUBBISH PIT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SUVA. April 16. A Fijian schoolmaster and a pupil were asphyxiated in a rubbish pit at the provincial school in Taveuni. The boy was overcome by fumes, and the master, who attempted to rescue him, was also overcome. Two other masters who also attempted a rescue almost succumbed.
