FOOTBALL CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Greytown Football Club was held last evening. Mr F. J. Brooks presided. A motion of sympathy was passed to the relatives of the late Messrs R. G. Vile and E. B. Hawkins, who had both been keen supporters of the club. The annual report stated that despite the difficult, conditions the club had had a most successful season. Five members had gained representative honours. Tb.e senior team were runnersup in the championship. The following members are on active service:—M. Connolly, C. Mitchell, R. Tully, R. Brice, and G. Field. Every endeavour will be made to carry on this season. The balance sheet showed that the year had commenced with a credit balance of £l4 11s 2d, and closed with a credit of £7 6s Bd.

The election of officers resulted as follows:—-Patron, Mr J. F. Thompson; president, Mr R. Pickard; vice-presi-dents, Messrs G. Fenwick, F. J. Brooks, C. Stringfellow, K. Humphries and A. Lyster; secretary, Mr G. Humphrey; treasurer, Mr F. Dennes; club captain, Mr B. McGregor; delegates to the Wairarapa Rugby Union, Messrs T. Hood. W. Stringfellow and R. Brunton; management committee, Messrs -W. Stringfellow, J. Stringfellow, T. Sugrue, M. Parker, K. Humphries and A. Johnson.

Mr M. Parker was appointed senior coach. It was decided to commence practice on Saturday.

The following new members were proposed: A. Morris, R. Playle, F. Playle, G. Tozer and R. Houghton. Personal Items. Gunner M. Bryan, of Auckland, who was the guest orf Mr and Mrs H. G. Carter for Easter, has left for Wellington. Misses N. Haigh and D. Haigh, who spent the Easter holidays at Greytown, have returned to Lower Hutt. Mr L. Duff returned to Taihapc yesterday.
