HOME GUARD WEEKLY PARADE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The weekly parade .of the Homo Guard last night was attended by about 100 members. Rifle instruction was given by Sergt.-Major Gray and route marching under the command of Mr Wright and Platoon Sergeant Harvey was engaged in.

LADIES’ HOCKEY CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Martinborough Ladies’. Hockey Club was held last night, when there was a large attendance of members. Mrs S. Chapman presided. The report showed that during the season two games had been won, one drawn and 5 lost. Misses Clarkson and M. McKinley had been chosen for the trials, and the latter had obtained representative honours. Thanks were expressed to the coach, Mr Wilton, and to .Messrs C. W. Skill, A. Brentnail, J. Jolly, C. McCardle, T. McKinley, R. George, I. Jackson and H. Wilton for the transport of players, to Mrs J. Beveridge for entertaining the teams, and to Mesdames Chapman and Lawrence for general help and advice. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Patron. Mr C. W. Skill; president, Mrs L. S. Chapman: vice-presidents, Mrs Beveridge, the Rev F. O. Ball, Messrs W. B. Martin, F. S. Michell, P. Michael, W. Blisset, R. Lynch, W. F. Gundrie. D. J. Green and R. P. George; secretary and treasurer, Miss Pauline Trounce; committee, Mesdames Lawrence, M. J. McLeod and Blackwell, Misses R. Duffy, L. McCardle, J. McCardle, B. Boyd; club captain, Miss L. McCardle; vicecaptain, Miss M. McKinley; auditor, Mr F. S. Michell.

Emergency Precautions. In connection with the Emergency Precautions Scheme, the Borough Council and Featherston County Council are distributing to all residents circulars containing instruction on what to do in case of bombing and incendiary fires.
