GREYTOWN
MISSING AIRMAN FLYING OFFICER LOASBY. ("Times-Age” Special.) Among the latest list of airmen reported missing is Flying Officer L. D. Loasby, only son of Mrs D. P. Loasby, late of Greytown but now residing in Carterton. Flying Officer Loasby was educated at the Greytown District High School and Wairarapa College. He was a pilot in the Union Airways before the war and left New Zealand soon after the outbreak of war. A few months ago he received slight wounds. Home Guard. The Greytown Home Guard will meet on Wednesday evening. Personal. Mr L. Brooks, of Palmerston North, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr and Mrs F. Brooks, Main Street. Misses Esme and T. Best have been home for Easter. Mr and Mrs D. Wallis, of Masterton, were weekend visitors to Mr and Mrs Wallis, Kuratawhiti Street. Mr and Mrs H. Langley, of Johnsonville, were visiting Greytown at the weekend. Easter Services. The Easter Sunday services in St Luke’s Church, Greytown, were well attended. Canon Slykes conducted all services.
