ATTACKS ON PIRAEUS

MADE BY NAZI PLANES SOME CIVILIAN CASUALTIES. RESTRICTED OPERATIONS ON BATTLE FRONT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) RUGBY, April 13. Saturday’s communiques from the (Greek front speak mainly of air attacks in the Piraeus region, on which the Nazis launched heavy attacks in successive waves. There was little damage, but civilian casualties are reported. About 21 people were killed and 43 injured. One Nazi machine was shot down by anti-aircraft fire. Land fighting was in the nature of reconnaissance activity and operations were restricted to contacts at various points on two fronts.
