STATE OF SIEGE

DECLARED IN TURKEY PREPARATIONS FOR CIVILIAN EVACUATION. OF EUROPEAN AREAS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 12. A message from Istanbul says that the Turkish general headquarters announce a state of siege in almost all European Turkey and the provinces of Istanbul and Izmir. Facilities are being provided for the evacuation of the inhabitants of Adrianople, Tckirdag, the Dardanelles, Kirlareli and other areas.

The French consulate in Istanbul has advised Frenchmen to be ready to leave for Anatolia at a moment’s notice.
