Y.M.C.A.

LADIES’ AUXILIARY. MONTHLY MEETING. The members of the Y.M.C.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on Thursday afternoon, there being a good attendance. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Henderson, Cottle, Kerr, Mackay and Kilgcur. Mrs. Copp was elected to the honorary members' list.

Owing to the Easter holidays and other circumstances arising to somewhat interfere with the fortnightly card parties, it was agreed to' hold the next one on Thursday, April 24, and to continue them fortnightly thereafter to suit the many patrons interested in these enjoyable gatherings. The annual function sponsored by the ladies, that of Mother and Son tea. was arranged for Monday, May 12, to be held in the Association’s games room. The date will coincide with’ the celebration of “Mother’s Day.” and fitting reference will be made in honour of Mother.

The treasurer’s report showed the finances to be adequate for the commencement of the year’s work, but will need to be maintained to assist in carrying out the many engagements so willingly taken in hand by the ladies. Mesdames Corskie and Welch were appointed hostesses for the ensuing month'.

Afernoon tea was dispensed by the hostesses, Mesdames Blackwood and Prescott.
