IHURAUA
PATRIOTIC EFFORT MEETING OF LADIES. (“Times-Age” Special.) A most successful meeting of ladies of the Thuraua district was held recently at the residence cf Mrs C. M. Meredith, Tikitapu. The time was spent in sewing and knitting for the Red Cross Society and for refugees fortysix articles were . handed in. These included a pair of blankets and <i number of boys’ trousers. A fruit cake made and donated by Miss E. Dagg was won by Mrs Hodgetts, Masterton. Surprise packets also found ready sale and the sum of about £1 15s was raised. Afternoon tea was served and a vote of thanks passed to Mrs Meredith for the use of her homo.
