CALLING UP TROOPS

BUT NOT TAKING ACTION MEANTIME POSITION OF TURKEY. COMMENT ON NAZI ASSURANCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 8. Turkey will call up within a few days two more classes of troops, but she is expected still to maintain her attitude of non-belligerency. The Turks state that they themselves are guilty of “offences” similar to those which Germany has made a pretext for attacking Yugoslavia and I Greece, confirming the view that the German assurances to Turkey are intended to hold good only till Germany is in a position to attack Turkey, but at present there are few troops other than Bulgarian on the Turkish-Bulgar-ian frontier, and the Turkish army is considered more than a match for these. The Turkish and British General Staffs are maintaining their close military contact.
