ARMY OF THE NILE

LARGE PART IN GREECE ENTRENCHED IN STRONG POSITIONS. REPORTED YUGOSLAV SUCCESSES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. April 8. A special correspondent in Athens of the Associated Press of Great Britain says the British army in Greece is spread over a large part of the peninsula and is already strongly entrenched. It comprises the best part of the Army of the Nile and also many special units drawn from all parts of the Empire. The Germans have not captured a single strategic point in Yugoslavia, according to advices received in Switzerland. The Germans continue to declare that terrain precludes a blitz success. The Ankara radio said that the Yugoslavs already have had considerable success in north Albania, and it added that German troops are now in contact with the main Greek positions in the Struma Valley and the Nevrokop sector, 30 miles cast of the valley. Iwo German tank attacks in these sectors were repulsed with heavy German losses.

The Berlin radio claimed that the Germans seized a strategically important river bridge and prevented the Yugoslavs from blowing it up. Swiss reports say that the Reichswehr is attacking Yugoslavia at four points:

1. Toward Ljubljana and Zagreb: 2. toward Belgrade from Suboticn (to the north-north-west);

3. toward Nish from Bulgaria; 4, toward Skoplje.
