SHEEP DOG TRIALS

COMPETITIONS AT AKITIO. RESULT OF HUNTAWAY EVENTS. The following are the concluding results of the Akitio Sheep Dog Trials: Class 3, Zig-zag Huntaway (open): I. Hay's "Toby" 44 points, 1; B. Riddell’s “Boy,”. 431 points. 2; H. Herbert’s “Toss,” 43 points, 3. Class 38, for maiden dogs (open;, run in conjunction with Class 3: B. Udy’s “Scott," 411 points, 1; R. Churchouse's “Boss," 401 points, 2; R. Hcndriksen’s “Gold,” 40.| points, 3. The winners of trophies were: -

B._ Armstrong's Cup for winner Class I (long head and hold in ring); M. Giddens.

P. R. Kent’s Cup for Class 2 (short head and yard): S. Purvis.

Mrs H. R. Poole's Memorial Cup for winner of Class 3 (zig-zag huntaway): I. Hay.

S. F. Herbert’s trophy for novice competitor scoring most points al trials: H. McDonald. Mrs E. H. Meech's cup for maiden dog scoring most points al ring and yard in classes 1 and 2: H. Herbert. L. Ransome's trophy for maiden competitor scoring most points in class IB and 2B with one dog: H. McDonald. Mannering Cup for maiden competitor scoring most points in Class 3B: R. Hendriksen. L. G. Crosse's (Junr) for maiden competitor scoring most points in y-lass IB and 3B: F. Hendriksen. At the conclusion of the trial:.' the president. Mr L. Ransome, in a few well chosen words congratulated the winners and called upon Mrs D. D. Riddell to present the trophies.
