TENNIS TOURNAMENT

WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION FIXTURE. IN AID OF PATRIOTIC FUNDS. The Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association will conduct an Easter tournament, the proceeds of which will be allocated to the National Patriotic Fund. The tourney will be held at the United Club’s courts, Masterton, during the' weekend. Leading players from Wellington and Hawke’s Bay, in addition to wellknown Wairarapa players Avill compete. Messrs R. McKenzie and R. McL. Ferkins, Wellington, have entered. McKenzie, a member of the Wellington Wilding Shield team, is stated to be the most prominent player in the Dominion. At present he holds the Wellington championship title. His play against Canterbury and the Waikato associations stamps him in the top flight of New Zealand players. Given good weather, tire tournament, for which entries are large, should be a success.
