LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST IMPROVEMENT LIKELY. MORE SETTLED & WARMER. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— GENERAL SITUATION. — An anticyclone centred in the Western Tasman Sea extends on to New Zealand.
FORECAST. — Fresh southerly winds soon decreasing and veering westerly; weather fair to fine although cold with sharp frosts likely tonight.
FURTHER OUTLOOK—Temperatures slowly rising and weather becoming more settled.
