POULTRY PRODUCERS
MASTERTON BRANCH MEETING. EGG MARKETING SCHEME. At a meeting of the Masterton branch of the Poultry Producers’ Federation. Mr A. J. Severn, producer member on the Poultry Board and the Rev W. F. Stent, president of the Federation, were present. Mr Stent explained the method of marketing in the Wellington City marketing area. The recently-constituted Wellington Egg Marketing Committee met weekly, and consisted of the licensed merchants, a representative of the Internal Marketing Department, the producer-member on the Poultry Board, and the Government member on the Poultry Board who acted in the interests of the consumers. Price increases were subject to the approval of the Price Tribunal. Mr Severn addressed lhe meeting on the question of feed, with particular reference to pollard and bran and replied to a number of questions. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to both visitors on the motion of the chairman. Mr F. J. Eetielheim. Mr Severn was nominated for reelection as producer-member on the Poultry Board. It was unanimously decided to extend an invitation to all member-; of the Poultry Board to attend the next meeting of the branch at an early dale.
