FELT OVER WIDE AREA IN CANTERBURY. NO REPORTS OF ANY DAMAGE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Waking many people, a gentle earthquake was felt over a wide area this morning at (>.43 o'clock. There have been no reports of any damage. The direction of the earthquake was from slightly west ci' north and the centre was at least 120 miles from Christchurch. A point 120 miles west of north from Christchurch is close to Murchison township
