GOLF SEASON OPENED GOOD SCORES REGISTERED. (“Times-Age’' Special.) Beautiful weather favoured the opening of the golf season which took place over the weekend, when a full attendance of members and a number of visitors were present. The links are in excellent order to commence the season and though interest does not seem as keen as in other years it is too early in the season yet to form a definite opinion. Some good scores were registered for the opening day. Mrs J. Bannister handed in best card for the ladies and Mr W. Kummer took major honours among the men, both these players securing a trophy for the day’s play. School Picnic. The annual school picnic was held on the school grounds on Saturday afternoon last and proved very enjoyable and successful. Lunch and afternoon tea were served in the hall. All the children in the district, whether attending the school or not, received a prize besides taking part in the sports during the day. It is intended to hold a dance in the hall shortly, the proceeds of which will be devoted to the school funds.
