UNION JACK SOLD GOOD SUM REALISED. (“Times-Age” Special.) A Union Jack offered at the Eketahuna stock sale on Thursday on behalf of the Eketahuna district fund for the mobile canteen realised £35. A large number of sheep offered in connection with the patriotic stock drive brought in a substantial sum. WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. In the absence of'Mrs. Fraser. Mrs Albrechtsen, vice-president, presided at the April meeting of the Eketahuna Women’s Institute. Owing to the inclemency of the weather the attendance was smaller than usual. It was announced that a concert would be presented by the Drama Circle in the Town Hall. Proceeds will be in aid of the patriotic funds. Remits were discussed and delegates were instructed how to vote at the annual council meeting to be held in Pahiatua on April 22. The best bloom in the garden will be the competition for the ensuing year. Mrs. Sturgeon demonstrated the making of arrow-heads. Members were very interested in the demonstration and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs. Sturgeon. The hostesses served afternoon tea, and the singing of the N.Z. Anthem brought the meeting to a close.
