COMPANY FAREWELL

MR A. M. HENDERSON RETIRING. PRESENTATION MADE YESTERDAY Members of the staff of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., from the Wairarapa and Manawatu districts were present at a gathering yesterday at the company’s office in Masterton to express their good wishes to Mr A. M. Henderson on his retirement from the company's service. As a token of the esteem in which Mr Henderson was held by his colleagues, he was presented with a fireside chair, and in making the presentation the Palmerston North manager. Mr Kirk, while expressing their regret at losing the services of such a well known stock man, congratulated him on his splendid health, which would assist in making his retirement a very happy period of his life. An aspect touched on during the meeting was the exceedingly cordial relations existing between the. retiring auctioneer and his successor, Mr Garland, who had been mutually acquainted for a period of 25 years, and the latter’s tribute to the business and personal integrity of Mr Henderson was warmly applauded by the remainder of the staff.

In responding to the presentation, Mr Henderson stated that the past eight years during which he had been associated with the company had been very happy, and he thanked his staff for their loyal support during that period.
