PATRIOTIC APPEAL DONATIONS ACKNOWLEDGED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following additional donations and collections to the Patriotic Fund are acknowledged:— Silver fox fur raffle, £4O (Mrs. D. H. S. Riddiford, total £50); Mrs. N. I. Matthews (parcels), £1; Mrs. L. McKenna, £1; Jumble Stall, 10s; Mrs. E. L. Hall, 7s 6d; F. Casidy, 4s. The total collections, donations and art union to date for Featherston and district amount to £921 13s 2d.

LEAGUE OF MOTHERS FIRST MEETING OF YEAR. The local branch of the League of Mothers held its first meeting for the year in the Parish Hall yesterday. There was a splendid attendance of members. Mrs Arch Clark presided. She welcomed the speaker, Mrs English, who spoke on the aims and ideals of the League, the sanctity of marriage, the responsibility and influence of motherhood, etc. On the motion of Mrs W. Barton a vote of thanks was passed to Mrs English for her interesting address. The hostesses were Mesdames J. Buck. Bladen, A. Y. Burt and B. Burt. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs D. Eglinton, “Wharekauhau,” Mr and Mrs Roy Donald. “Gum Drove” and Mr and Mrs Bruce Donald, “Rowallan,” are spending a holiday at the Sounds. Miss E. Jury, “Tokaroa,” Carterton. is the guest of Miss B. Donald, "Tarureka.” Mrs A. S. Kilsby is a weekend visitor to Wellington. Mrs W. Connell is spending a week in Wellington while her small son is undergoing treatment in Lewisham Hospital. Kahutara Tennis Club. The Kahutara Tennis Club’s courts will be officially closed on March 29, but will remain open for play till Easter.
