CARTERTON

DANCE AT BELVEDERE ENJOYABLE GATHERING (“Times-Age" Special.) There was a large attendance at the dance held in the Belvedere schoolroom last evning. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs Rogers, and much appreciated extras were played by Mr R. Knowles.The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. and Mrs. C. Zabell. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr. A. E. Reid. Supper was served by the ladies of the district, and a very enjoyable gathering was brought to a close at midnight. Presbyterian Sunday School. Members and teachers of the Presbyteran Sunday School journeyed to the Tauherenikau race course this morning where they- are holding their annual picnic. A sports programme is being carried out. Day of Payer. Tomorrow all the churches in Carterton and the Salvation Army will hold special services of prayer. Personal Items. Mr. and Mrs. Pankhurst, who have been touring the North Island, passed through Carterton yesterday • on their way home to Invercargill. Mrs. J. de Norville, who has been visiting her parents in Napier, has returned to Carterton. Mr. H. Colson, Garrison Street, Carterton, has returned to his home after having been a patient at the Masterton Hospital for some time.
