HOME GUARD GOOD PROGRESS MADE. ("Times-Age” Special.) The local members of the Home Guard are showing considerable enthusiasm in their work and are making special preparations in. connection with an anticipated visit from Major-Gen-eral Russell in the near future. Dairy Company’s Output. The supply of milk to the local dairy factory is keeping up well and an increased output should be recorded for the season. ■Welcome Rain. Good soaking rain is falling in Eketahuna today and will prove very beneficial to the pastures which were becoming somewhat dry. Air Pilot to be Entertained. Pilot Officer E. Page, formerly of Eketahuna, and associate to Judge Ostler, will be entertained at a social in the Anglican Church tonight and made a presentation. New Appointment. Mr J. H. Handysicie. of Masterton, has been appointed general manager for Messrs A. H. Herbert and Co. Ltd., the well known merchants of Eketahuna, Alfredton and Pahiatua.. Football Prospects. Football in Eketahuna this season promises to be very dead as most of the footballers have gone into camp. It is probable, however, that Eketahuna will be able to field a third grade team.
