UP-TO-THE-MINUTE RECIPES. Try these up-to-the-minute recipes: Cheese Fondu. 1 cup stale breadcrumbs 1 cup grated cheese 1 cup milk 2 eggs 1 tablespoon butter £ tablespoon salt J teaspoon mustard i teaspoon red pepper Mix bread, milk, and cheese in a saucepan and cook very gently till cheese is melted. Add beaten eggs and cook till thick and smooth. Put into buttered baking dish and bake in moderate oven till brown on top. Dilicious Custard. Mix 2 full tablespoons of custard powder with enough milk to make a thin paste. Bring 1 pint of milk to the boil, add mixture and sugar to taste. Stir well while cooking. The children love custard separately or served with stewed fruit.
