WEDDING
+ DWANE—DAYSH. i "Times-Age” Special.; A pretty wedding took place at Carterton on Saturday, March 8. when Elsie Patricia, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur R. Daysh. of Anderson Road, Carterton, was married to Sidney William, second son of Mr and Mrs W. J. Dwane, Park Road, Carterton. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a longsleeved frock of cream /charmeuse satin, cut on Victorian lines and finished with a spray of lilies. She also wore the usual veil and orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet of chrysanthemum lilies and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Isla Elkins, wearing a pretty frock of blue taffeta. She carried a shower bouquet of pink chrysanthemums and maiden-hair fern. Mr Terence Dwane was best man. After the marriage ceremony an adjournment was made to the Masonic Hall in, Holloway Street, where the wedding breakfast was held, about one hundred guests being present. The bride's mother received her guests attired in a wine coloured frock, and was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother wearing a navy ensemble. The usual toasts were honoured, that of the health of the bride and bridegroom being enthusiastically received. The bride travelled in a grey tailored costume with black hat and accessories to tone. Later in the evening they left by car travelling south where the honeymoon is being spent. On their return they will take up their residence in Carterton.
