Mrs. W. Meech, Hastings, is visiting relatives at Pongaroa. Mrs. E. W. de Lisle and Miss Joy de Lisle, of Auckland, are the guests of Mrs. Smith, Bentley Street, Masterton. Mrs. Trevor Beetham. Perry Street, Masterton, and her daughter, Mrs. White, have returned from a visit to Paekakariki. Mrs. Bates, Masters Crescent, Masterton, has sufficiently recovered from a recent operation to be able to return to her home. A daughter of one of the pioneer families of New Zealand.'Mrs. Hannah Ladbrook, has died in Hastings. Mrs. Ladbrook, who was born in Tasmania, was 84 years of age. She came to New Ztaland when she was two years old. and in 1875 she was married to the late Mr. George Ladbrook, who died three years ago. Both Mr. and Mrs. Ladbrook took a keen interest in church work, particularly in Southland and Central Otago, where they spent the early years of their married life. Later they moved to the North Island, settling in Hastings 26 years ago.
