(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, March 10. ■ Comprehensive defence plans for-the Pacific are being considered at a series of conferences beginning today in Melbourne between Australian and New Zealand defence chiefs. The New Zealand representatives are Major General Sir J. E. Duigan, for the army; Captain W. E. Parry, for the navy; and Air Commodore Saunders, for the air. The talks, which are in secret, are the first of their kind since the war began. The best methods of ensuring Austra? lian and New Zealand co-operation are being discussed and the results will be co-ordinated with, those of other defence talks at Singapore and other Pacific bases
