FEATHERSTON

PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED. (“Times-Age” Special.) Lieutenant J. Riddiford. Privates E. Benton, C. Clements, C. Jepson, W. Tyer, G. Higginson, L. ’Ward, J. Willis, ’ J. T. Thurston and E. Robb were entertained at a dance given by the Patriotic Committee in the Anzac Hall last evening. There was a good attendance. During the evening Mr N. C. C. Shepherd, in the absence of Mr J. W. Card, presented each soldier with a gift of money. Udy’s orchestra supplied the music. The buffet supper was arranged by the ladies’, committee. Personal Items. Mr J. B. Davis is visiting Dunedin. Mrs A. McLeod, who underwent an operation at the Home of Compassion. Island Bay, is reported to be making satisfactory progress towards recovery. Miss D. Briggs is on the relieving staff of the High School.
