The Grain Research Committee, after a three-day conference, recommended Western Canadian farmers to increase corn, (lax and barley crops in substitution for wheat. An increase of 35.000.000 bushels of barley production will be required to feed the increased hog production needed for bacon for Britain. Increases in corn (lax and barley will absorb 1.250.000 acres previously used for wheat.
