General policy questions were discussed yesterday by the caucus of members of the Parliamentary Labour Party. The caucus, which met in the morning and afternoon, resumed today. The Two Comets. Only with telescopes, and then not very well, arc comet 1941 A and Cunningham's Comet, which have been visible for about three weeks, now discernible. The new comet can be seen m the early evening and Cunningham's in the early morning. Boys Cost More to Feed. Medical Benefits Soon Available. The Minister of Health, Mr Nordmeycr, said yesterday that the preliminary work in connection with the medical benefits scheme under the Social Security Ac| had now been completed. and that medical benefits would be available to the public at an early date. The regulations covering this part of the scheme would be published in today's Gazette, said Mr Nord* meyer. He added that at the same I time a statement would be released explaining the main points of the scheme and informing the public how to apply for medical benefits. Damages for Loss of Thumb. The -accident took place on the Ngahauranga Gorge Road on the morning of May 20 last year, when a car driven by Smith collided with one of two lorries owned by Moore and driven by his employees.
