R.A.F. RAIDS
ON GERMANY & OCCUPIED TERRITORIES — TRAIL LEFT OF FIRES & EXPLOSIONS. THREE BRITISH MACHINES LOST. Full details have now been issued, the 8.8. C. states, of attacks on enemy and occupied territory made during the 24 hours from yesterday by R.A.F. bombers and fighters. Raids were made on North-West Germany, Holland, Norway and Denmark. Tuesda y night the R.A.F. made its 55th raid on the German port of Bremen, leaving a trail of fires and explosions. Hanover was raided for the second night in succession, the Air Ministry stating that fuel was added to the flames of the fires started on the preceding night. At Rotterdam a heavy explosion was caused in oil installations. [ Machines of the Coastal Command bombed shipping and a seaplane base in Southern Norway. Yesterday afternoon another daylight sweep was made over Northern France. Three British machines were lost, including two fighters. The Air Ministry reports that one of the bombers crashed on returning and it is regretted that three civilians were killed. ENEMY BOMBERS FOUR DESTROYED OVER BRITAIN.j THREE BY ANTI-AIRCRAFT FIRE. An enemy bomber was destroyed over East Scotland yesterday morning, the 8.8. C. reports. It is now known that two enemy bombers were destroyed on Sunday and one on Monday night. The last -mentioned three were all destroyed by anti-aircraft fire.
