LATE MRS COE

PIONEER OF LOWER WAIRARAPA Mrs. Mary Ann Coe< nee Miss Mary j Oliver) who died in Masterton very ■ suddenly on January 17. was a pioneer, of the Featherston and Kahiiutara district. Her husband, four daughters and two sons are left to mourn her loss. The daughters are: Mesdames M. L. Maxted (Maslerton). Mrs. O. Clarke j (Te Aroha). Mrs. 'l'. 1 Cole < Masterion). Mrs. E. 1. Foster 1 Masterton • and the sons Messrs. J. O. Coe (Wanganub and H. Coe (Feilding). .Mesdames S.; Matson. A. McPhee and F. Burling . (Carterton i. A. Maguire t Masterton' and T. Harland tPohanginai are sisters. , Her three brothers predeceased hetsome years ago. Her death, coming so suddenly. was a great shock to her family and to, her many friends. She was loved and j respected by all who Knew her. She > was a great lover of all kinds "f sport , and her smiling face will be sadly * -ft, ’.sed, Sh-- w.c always ready and. willing at all times t<> help on any committ«*e that she could assist. During j the last war and also in this. her services were offered freely in all kinds : nf war work. She was a great lover «>< flowers and her garden at Puhaulea. and latterly th..- one m Masterton were real pictures. As a member of the Wonv-n's Division of the Farmer* Union ami the Townswomen’s Guild, her interest m both these bodies wm borne out by the help and wort; put into them.
