TIRAUMEA
FANCY DRESS PARTY ANNUAL SCHOOL BREAK-UP. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual break-up of the Tiraumea School took the form of a fancy dress party and dance. Mr J. Reed, chairman of the School Committee, presented each child with a book. The following awards were made: — Pet Lamb Club (prizes presented by Mr J. Olsen and Mr Hay): D. Duncan, S. Kitchen, J. Houlbrooke 3. Special prizes: S. Kitchen, H. Wright. Calf club (prizes presented by Mr J. Olsen): J. Houlbrooke 1, I. Robbie 2, M. MacManaway 3. School certificates: Alison Houlbrooke, Zeta Hart, Doreen Jewitt, lan Robbie. Mrs R. Kebbell judged the fancy dresses and awarded prizes to the following:—Winkie Smith (Pirate). Ann Houlbrooke (Cherry Ripe), Colin Houlbrooke (Modern Miss), Zeta Hart (Britannia), lan Raleigh (Beacn Girl), Pearl Hansen (Hawaiian Girl). Items were given by the school choir. After supper the adults enjoyed dancing, music being provided by Mr J. Duncan. Mrs G. Houlbrooke and Mr R. Harman.
