CHURCH SERVICES
The morning service at Knox Church. Masterton, and the services at Matahiwi and Ngaurnu Road tomorrow, will be conducted by the Rev. John Davie. The evening service at Knox Church and the services at Te Wharau and Te Whiti will .be conducted by Mr Ivan Muir, B.A. At the service at Te Whiti the Sunday school prizes will be distributed. A service will be held at Solway on Thursday at 7.30 p.m., and conducted by the Rev. J. Davie. The Church of England prize-giving services will be held tomorrow at Lansdowne at 9.30 a.m., Kuripuni at 2 p.m., and St. Matthew’s Church at 3.30 p.m. At 7 p.m., St. Matthew’s choir will render a Christmas cantata. All other services will be held at the usual hours. The services of the Masterton Baptist Fellowship will be held as usual tomorrow in the Y.M.C.A. Mr A. Gibb will be the preacher. A congregational social gathering will be held on Wednesday next, v/hen it is expected that the Rev E. Batts, of Lower Hutt, will preside. The meeting at. the Salvation Army Barracks on Sunday will be conducted by Commissioner and Mrs Evan Smith. The Commissioner and his wife have had wide missionary experience, having worked in several of the Army’s missionary fields. They are capable speakers and their messages will doubtless be deeply appreciated. Commissioner and Mrs Smith are at present the leaders of the Salvation Army in New Zealand. Mr W. J. Lowe will conduct both the services at the Church of Christ tomorrow. At the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church tomorrow the services will be conducted by the Rev D. McNeur, who will preach at Wangaehu at 2.30 p.m. The services at the Methodist Church tomorrow will have special reference to “Church Membership Day.” The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be observed both in the morning and evening. The choir will attend the hospital and provide a choral service. At Kuripuni. Mr F. G. Rutter will be the preacher. The newly-formed choir, under the leadership of Mr V/. Davies, will render special music, suitable to the season. The Rev H. S. Kings will conduct the service at Mt Bruce.
