WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

. o UPPER PLAIN MEETING. COMPETITION RESULTS. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Upper Plain Women’s Institute, Mrs. W. Taplin presided. The meeting opened in the usual manner. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Skeet and Edwards. The competitions for the best bloom was won by Miss Fay Cohen, with Mrs. G. Dagg second. The “wandering shilling” went to Mrs. Scott. Mrs. Whittaker gave a most interesting demonstration on the making of cane trays, etc. She was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. After the serving of afternoon tea, the meeting was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
