SHOP DAY SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL EFFORT. ("Times-Age” Special.) A very successful effort by the teachers and scholars'of the local school to raise money for the school ground improvement fund was held in the school yesterday afternoon. Business was so brisk that the well-filled stall: were soon sold cut, and the sum o! £2B 15s lOd will go to the fund. Prime Lambs. Just over 600 fat lambs from the Elgar estate, “Fernside,” were killed at the Meat Export Co’s, works at Ngahauranga this week. The lambs made the fine average of just on .381 b. each, and every lamb was first grade. Usually in a draft of this size there are many second grade sheep. Personal Items. Mrs Juno is visiting relatives in Wellington. Miss Bloxam left yesterday for Springfield on a three- weeks visit. Patriotic Appeal. The following additional donations in connection with the Patriotic Appeal are acknowledged:—Tauherenikau Ladies’ Guild, £47 3s lOd; collections per Messrs J. Carne Bidwill, £35; W.
