HEARING OF APPEALS

BY MEN CALLED UP FOR SERVICE. BOARDS TO BE APPOINTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The armed forces appeal boards to hear appeals by men called up for service with the forces overseas are likely to be appointed within the next day or so. It is probable that six of these boards will be appointed. The National Service Emergency Regulations provide that each board is to consist of three persons, and it is understood that one of these will be a stipendiary magistrate, who will be the chairman. Appeals against Territorial service are heard by the manpower committees, but in addition to hearing appeals against overseas service the armed forces appeal boards will hear all appeals by those whose ground of appeal is that they conscientiously object to serving with the armed forces, including the Territorials,
