SWIMMING

MASTERTO.N club season OFFICIAL OPENING TONIGHT. GOOD PROGRAMME ARRANGED. The official opening of the Masterton Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club will take place at the Dixon Street Baths at 7.30 o’clock tonight. The patron, Mr H. E. Pither. will officially open the season. It is reported that keen interest is being taken in the club’s activities and a large attendance is anticipated tonight. The following programme has been arranged: 25yds junior girls’ handicap, 25yds junior boys’ handicap. 50 yds’ intermediate handicap. 25yds ladies' handicap, 50yds men’s handicap. 50 yds open breaststroke handicap, junior dive, ladies’ dive and men's dive. The baths were filled this week and it is slated that the water is quite warm.
